This grammar pattern expresses the expectation of a future event or condition

- only used with action verbs
- tense and/or negation is expressed in the final/main/independent clause
- ㄹ 가망이 있다(없다) attaches to verbs ending in a vowel
- 을 가망이 있다(없다) attaches to verbs ending in a consonant

Examples:
제 친구가 올 가망이 없습니다./There is no possibility of my friend coming.
우리 개가 돌아올 가망이 있었어요./There was the prospect that our dog would return.
성공할 가망은 거의 없다./There is almost no chance of success.
